Our Approach

A standard of care defined by listening first.

Kidney health is rarely a single moment — it's a relationship. We measure success not only in lab values, but in clarity, confidence, and the ability to keep living fully.

Every service we offer is anchored to three commitments: evidence-based medicine you can trust, transparent communication that respects your intelligence, and continuity of care from your primary physician through specialty treatment. Whether you've just received a diagnosis or you've been managing chronic disease for years, you'll find a team prepared to meet you where you are.

01

Diagnose with precision

Comprehensive testing and second-opinion reviews to ensure accuracy before any plan is drawn.

02

Treat with restraint

Only the interventions that genuinely serve your long-term outcomes — never volume-driven care.

03

Coordinate fully

Direct communication with your primary, cardiologist, endocrinologist, and surgical team.

04

Educate continuously

You'll always understand what we're doing, why we're doing it, and what comes next.

How We Work

A clear path from uncertainty to a plan.

Our process is intentionally unrushed. The first goal isn't a prescription — it's understanding. Once we understand your full picture, the right plan becomes much easier to agree on together.

i.

Listen

Your first appointment is a conversation. We review records, hear your concerns in your words, and identify what matters most to you.

ii.

Investigate

Targeted lab work, imaging, and — where indicated — biopsy. We test deliberately, never reflexively. Every result is reviewed with you.

iii.

Plan

A written, personalized care plan covering monitoring frequency, medications, lifestyle partnership, and what success looks like at three, six, and twelve months.

iv.

Partner

Ongoing care with the same physician team, transparent results portal access, and direct communication with your other providers.

Why CSRA Trusts Us

Credentialed expertise, accountable practice.

Our differentiator isn't just what we treat — it's how. Board-certified nephrologists, current with the latest evidence, and bound by a practice culture that prizes patient outcomes over patient volume.

i

Board-Certified Nephrologists

Every physician on our team is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, with fellowship training at recognized academic centers and active continuing education.

ii

Evidence-Based Protocols

Our diagnostic and treatment pathways are built on KDIGO and ASN guidelines, reviewed quarterly, and adapted as the evidence base evolves.

iii

Responsible Care Standard

Every recommended procedure must pass an internal necessity review. We refuse to treat by volume — your plan is built around what genuinely serves your health.

iv

Integrated CSRA Network

Direct working relationships with regional hospitals, dialysis centers, transplant programs, and primary care groups across the CSRA.

v

Transparent Patient Portal

Full access to your labs, imaging summaries, visit notes, and care plan — because informed patients make better partners.

vi

Same-Week Consults

For urgent referrals, we maintain reserved capacity to see new patients within five business days — because uncertainty about kidney health shouldn't wait.

Common Questions

Honest answers, plainly given.

If you don't see your question here, we'd rather you call us than guess. There's no fee for asking, and our team is genuinely happy to point you toward the right next step.

Do I need a referral to be seen?
Most insurance plans require a referral from your primary care physician for specialty visits. We're happy to coordinate this with your doctor if you'd like — simply call our office and we'll begin the process for you.
How do I know if I should see a nephrologist?
Common reasons for referral include reduced kidney function on lab work (eGFR), protein or blood in the urine, difficult-to-control blood pressure, recurrent kidney stones, or a family history of kidney disease. If your primary care physician has flagged any concern about your kidneys, that conversation belongs with a specialist.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a current medication list (including over-the-counter supplements), recent lab work or imaging if you have it, your insurance card and ID, and any questions you've written down. Most importantly, bring your honest concerns — that's where the real conversation begins.
Will I see the same physician each visit?
Continuity of care is central to how we practice. You will be assigned a primary nephrologist who manages your care plan. In the event your physician is unavailable, your records are reviewed in detail before any other team member meets with you.
How long are appointments?
New-patient consultations are scheduled for 45 to 60 minutes to allow for a thorough review of your history. Follow-up visits typically run 20 to 30 minutes. We do not double-book — your appointment time is genuinely yours.
Do you accept my insurance?
We participate with most major commercial insurers, Medicare, and Medicaid plans serving the CSRA. Please call our office with your insurance information and we'll verify your benefits before your first visit so there are no surprises.
Can I receive care if I already see another nephrologist?
Yes. Second opinions are not only welcome — we encourage them whenever a major treatment decision is on the table. We'll request records from your current provider and offer an independent review with no pressure to transfer your care.
Begin Your Care

Your kidneys deserve a second opinion you trust.

Whether you're newly diagnosed, managing an established condition, or simply seeking a clearer answer than you've been given — our team is ready to listen and to help. Schedule a consultation today and take the next step with confidence.
